Western Maine Nurseries grows 25 to 30 million trees on over 300 acres of rich, alluvial soil which is irrigated from the neighboring Saco River. The combination of soil quality, adequate irrigation, and specialized cultivation techniques produces heavy, deep-rooted transplants.
With summer temperatures in the 90s and harsh winter temperatures dipping as low as -40F, our northern climate further helps produce hardy plants conditioned for a variety of planting environments.
In over 30,000+ square feet of propagation and greenhouse space, we grow over a million "plug" evergreen seedlings and 500,000 woody ornamental 3" potted liners annually.
